Formerly a Senior Research Fellow in the Biochemistry Department at the University of Otago in New Zealand, he earned his MD from Bristol University and a PhD in biochemistry from King’s College in London. He is author of Evolution: A Theory in Crisis and Nature’s Destiny: How the Laws of Biology Reveal Purpose in the Universe, and he has published articles in journals such as Nature, Nature Genetics,BioSystems, and Human Genetics.
